Metro Station, currently on tour with The Ready Set,are excited to premiere their new music video for “She Likes Girls” on VEVO. The track comes from the recently released EP, Gold, which is available now on iTunes, here: http://bit.ly/1uumMP7. Head over to VEVO to watch “She Likes Girls”: http://vevo.ly/l4L1pc.
Regarding the inspiration for the video, Trace Cyrus of Metro Station explains, “She Likes Girls” is a song about meeting a girl and thinking she is into you but finding out she is attracted to girls. Instead of being upset she doesn’t have feelings for you it’s about supporting her because the choice she is making is looked down upon at times. The song is about doing what makes you happy in a relationship. The point of the song is to find someone that makes you happy and don’t care about anyone else’s opinion.”
Gold, which features new songs like “She Likes Girls” and “Love & War,” blends the group’s signature electro-pop melodies and newfound lyrical depth. The band has recorded tons of new material but they aren’t in a rush to put out a full-length album-yet. Instead, they’ve chosen to release Gold earlier this month before hitting the road with The Ready Set. The tour kicked off on October 21st in Salt Lake City. The “Outsiders Tour” features support bands The Downtown Fiction and Against The Current. Tickets are available here: www.outsiderstour.soundrink.com. Tour dates below. Metro Station announced their reunion stating that the combination of time and perspective managed to make the impossible occur by bringing two former musical collaborators and best friends back together; “I think we both just matured as people and as musicians,” Cyrus explains. The band’s 2007 self-titled album-which included tracks like “Seventeen Forever” and “Kelsey” sold more than 500,000 copies and its third single, “Shake It,” was certified platinum, having sold more than 2.7 million copies. The song also reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2008 and the accompanying video has racked up 47 million YouTube views to date.
