Milo Greene Follows First UK Run With US Tour, contributes track to Descendents tribute

By on January 10, 2013

Los Angeles-based quintet Milo Greene will tour the U.S. this spring, playing a mixture of headline dates and shows with Stars, including two nights at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY (March 8 & 9). See below for itinerary.

Produced by the bandand Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers), Milo Greene’s self-titled debut album on Chop Shop/Atlantic Records entered Billboard’s Heatseekers chart at No. 1. It appeared on KCSN’s “Top Albums of 2012” list and the track “Cutty Love” was hailed as one of the “Best Songs of 2012” by USA Today noted: “the most engaging tunes…have a subtle melodic grace and a gentle, pulsing urgency that sneak up on you and linger” while Time Out Chicago said: “One listen to Milo Greene’s eponymous debut and it’s not hard to understand why the group managed to pack Lincoln Hall with a sell-out crowd.”

Celebrating the UK release of the album, Milo Greene will embark on its first-ever UK tour on January 22. Lead single “1957” is currently “Single of the Week” on iTunes in the UK and Ireland. The band’s January 23 show at St. Pancras Church in London is sold out and a second show has been added.

The band appears on FILTER Magazine’s latest compilation, Milo Turns 50. The collection – released on January 1 to coincide with Descendents’ frontman Milo Aukerman’s 50 birthday – features exclusive recordings of Descendents songs by 14 artists, including Mike Watt, YACHT, The Bronx and FIDLAR (featuring Brian Rodriguez). Fans can check out Milo Greene’s eerily hushed version of the scathing Descendents classic “Parents” at the link below:

Milo Greene – comprising Robbie Arnett, Graham Fink, Andrew Heringer, Curtis Marrero and Marlana Sheetz – spent much of 2012 on the road, playing numerous headline shows, performing at Lollapalooza and supporting such artists as The Civil Wars and The Walkmen. The band has appeared on “Late Show with David Letterman, “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” and “Conan.”
