New York City’s MisterWives are kicking off the Summer with the announcement of Reflections Remixes, being released exclusively on Spotify on June 17th via Photo Finish/Republic. The four song EP features unique remixes of their bright, smile-inducing single “Reflections,” including the latest from Hippie Sabotage who are following up their recent success with Tove Lo‘s “Stay High (Habits Remix).” In addition to the EP, MisterWives have also been added to this Summer’s Northside Festival and will be headlining The Wild Honey Pie’s The Beehive at Brooklyn Bowl on June 14th. Northside is just the latest addition to MisterWives’ festival season schedule – the band, who just returned from their first trip to the UK where they performed at The Great Escape, will also make stops at this year’s Firefly Music Festival, Summerfest, and MoPop in the coming weeks.
“Reflections” is the first official single and title track off of the band’s debut EP and was produced by fellow New Yorker Frequency, whose recent production credits include Eminem’s massive single “The Monster” featuring Rihanna. “Reflections” premiered this January with Teen Vogue who immediately picked up on the band’s “…flawless blend of folk and soul…” and heralded vocalist Mandy Lee’s “hauntingly soulful voice.” Last week, the track crossed the 2 million mark for streams on Spotify alone, where it also spent multiple weeks on the Most Viral chart. “Reflections” has been a staple on Billboard’s new Emerging Artists Chart, which monitors social activity and online chatter with real-time updates – the song peaked at #11 and has been present on the chart nearly every day since the chart’s launch. It can also be heard in Piperlime ads nationally this June.
MisterWives played their first show together just over a year ago and were quickly picked up by Photo Finish Records. They immediately went into their home studio in the Bronx to record Reflections before hitting the road – in the last year the band has played shows and done national tours with Metric, Half Moon Run, The Mowgli’s, American Authors, and The Royal Concept and appeared at their first SXSW. They took a break in January, when Reflections was released to several Billboard chart debuts, a sold out release show at Baby’s All Right, and raves from Nylon, Paste, MTV, and more. This Summer, they’ll head into the studio to write and record their debut full-length.
Reflections Remixes will drop on June 17th. All confirmed Summer dates for MisterWives can be found below, and for the most up to date information, please visit www.misterwives.com.
