Music Industry Convention SUNSET SESSIONS; FIRST Ever Awards For Industry Favorites

By on March 5, 2013

Michele Clark’s Sunset Sessions, a music industry convention and talent showcase held the 16th Triple A convention in San Francisco, CA this past February (21 – 23, 2013). Hosted by KFOG and held at The Grand Hyatt, Union Square, this festival may have been the most successful yet! “We had a wildly fun and successful trip! This was my favorite Sunset Sessions,” says Julie Muncy of WARNER BROTHERS RECORDS.

Sunset Sessions is a key opportunity for musicians and industry power players alike, introducing record labels, radio station programmers, music supervisors, managers, agents and others to emerging and established artists (This past Sunset Sessions marked the 19th SS event overall). The convention has been influential in the careers of numerous newer artists, including the Black Keys, Ryan Adams, Fun., Sia, Jack Johnson, James Blunt, Zac Browne Band, Grace Potter and Jason Mraz. Marquee names like Stevie Nicks, Richie Sambora, Lucinda Williams, Jewel, Third Eye Blind and Wayne Coyne also have participated in the event.

The most immediate buzz bands so far seem to be: Saints of Valory, The Staves, Matt Costa, Gooding, Stone Senate, Anna Rose, Milo Greene, Faulkner and The Nikhil Korulo Band. Of Sunset Sessions returning alumni, Alpha Rev and The Partolones are sighted as Breakthrough Artists. The event’s “headliners” also blew everyone away, John Hiatt, Dido and Brett Dennen.
