New and Upcoming releases! Halloween madness! Art opening/book release for Martin Sorrondeguy’s (Los Crudos/Limp Wrist etc) new photo book “Get Shot”

By on September 25, 2012

First up is the book release/photo exhibit for Martin Sorrondeguy’s new photo book “Get Shot” at our store in Oakland. It takes place Friday October 5th from 6pm to 10pm. It is All Ages and admission is free. Martin has been photographing the punk underground for over 25 years. His role as a vocalist for hardcore bands including Los Crudos and Limp Wrist, has shaped a unique and vivid portrait of punk culture. The book features over 400 largely unpublished images documenting his continual engagement with the local music scene, a journey returning to Uruguay, as well as touring over ten countries on five continents. Sorrondeguy’s visual diary captures both the bands and the countless individuals devoted to the spirit of a movement. The art show will feature a selection of prints featured in the book and some of Martin’s silk screened poster work. The book will be on sale along with prints and posters. Some of which are quite limited! We recommend showing up early!

We’ve got a host of new releases and represses that are out now and available for purchase. Including…

Shannon & The Clams “Ozma / Muppet Babies” 7″ (new). The brand new single! Features the neo-classic Ozma and perpetually crowd pleasing cover of the Muppet Babies theme song! Limited color vinyl still available!

F.U.2 “Punk Rock” LP (new!). Finally a legitimate reissue of this late 70’s UK fake punk classic. Recorded by members of The Downliners Sect as a bit of a larf but ended up being one of the best punk LP’s of the era! “Sniffing Glue” was later covered by the Exploding Hearts. Limited color vinyl still available!

The Dicks “Hate The Police” 7″ (repress). Our very popular re-release of the american punk/hardcore classic “Hate The Police”. Now on very limited Yellow vinyl. Only 200 copies made on this color. Black vinyl is also available.

Shannon & The Clams “Sleep Talk” LP (repress). The record that made you fall in love with the Clams all over again! Now on limited edition clear/green split vinyl!

Order now at or tell your local store to order them from!

Oh and speaking of Shannon and The Clams they’re in Europe right now for the first time! If you’re over there go see them!

Coming soon on 1-2-3-4 Go!…

In November we’ve got a few releases headed your way. We’ve got the new Uzi Rash LP “Coreless Roll-Can Liner” featuring some of their best recordings to date and sadly some of their final ones as well. We’ll be posting some videos for this very soon. Following shortly after is the first LP for San Francisco’s Synthetic ID called “apertures”. The recently minted california music blog “Lo-Pie” had this to say when we sent them a promo…

“Synthetic ID evokes collapsing architecture, mangled pin cushions in undated photographs and above all else, tension. The San Franciscan group’s debut EP was an exercise in straight-ahead punk with a post-punk guitar aesthetic that eschewed heavy-handed pastiche in favor of modern neuroses. Sinuous guitar leads deftly plunge, serrate and splice with insidious resolve while the band asserts mid-tempo conviction and tasteful restraint. Constantly on the brink of a seething barrage, the group retreats into their festering comfort zone, as if unable to cope with the demands of healthy social behavior. To illustrate, Synthetic ID recently performed in a Mission District taco shop and margaritas curdled.
Their debut EP was such a distilled document of sonic maladjustment and bagged-up- but-doin’-damage moodiness that it’s difficult to imagine a more potent offering. Only, Oakland’s 1-2-3-4 Go! Records is arranging the group’s follow up 12” and judging by this track, Synthetic ID is reacting to their urban locale with more spite, damage and unnerving vitality.”
