New Video from Army Navy – Ode To Janice Melt

By on September 19, 2011
Be sure to check out the brand new music video from LA’s Army Navy below. Premiering as an NPR Music “First Watch” over the weekend, the video, directed by Jeremy Konner (“Drunk History”) and starring Jason Ritter (“The Event” / “Parenthood”) is a rather absurd look at a hidden relationship and a clip NPR went on to describe as “a brilliant and hilarious take on romance.”
Released on July 12, 2011 through the band’s very own The Fever Zone Records, The Last Place, Army Navy’s sophomore album that garnered the band recent Rolling Stone “Artist To Watch” and eMusic Selects nods, was produced by Adam Lasus (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Yo La Tengo, etc.) and was described by SPIN recently in their 8-out-of-10 review as “a feel-bad record you can actually feel good about.” Embodying everything about the spirit of summer through shining guitars and bittersweet lyrics, The Last Place is the story of an intoxicating relationship gone awry and one’s ability to make sense of a truly tumultuous situation.
– “their mix of raw emotion and nuanced craft is bound to charm the pants off of anyone who’s ever loved Cheap Trick, Big Star, and other brash yet bittersweet guitar bands.” – Rolling Stone
– “a poisoned Valentine dripping with equal parts beauty and scorn; imagine a Vulcan mind-meld between Teenage Fanclub’s ‘Bandwagonesque’ and Marvin Gaye’s ‘Here, My Dear’ and you’re there.” – eMusic
In addition to the release of the video, Army Navy will be performing a co-headline tour of the US sponsored by FILTER throughout October with Santah. The tour will also make a stop in New York, NY, for the CMJ Music Marathon between October 18 and 21. Tour dates below.
