West London-based quintet Nomad Soul announce their debut EP “Forever”.
First garnering attention with “Murmuration”, the collective’s debut track which featured in a short independent film by award winning filmmakers Island and River, Nomad Soul have spent the last year developing their sound, collaborating with musicians & vocalists, and crafting their debut EP “Forever”.
Drawing inspiration from Jazz, Ambient, Classical and beyond, Nomad Soul have been compared to both Cinematic Orchestra and Bonobo.
Title track “Forever” comprises of shimmering Horns, warm bass tones, shy-guitar and mellow piano keys, underpinned by a Jazz tinged drum shuffle. Despite its complex time signature the arrangement creates a sense of space over its course. On vocals, Lucinda of rising ‘Ambient Pop’ quartet, Holy Milk, compliments the instrumental with her stunning vocal ability and heartfelt lyrics.
Instrumental track “Into the Ocean” “takes inspiration from the many emotions of the Sea”. The warm trip-hop beats, distant electric guitar, saxophones and bassline set a mesmerising tone before cascading into an a powerful brass section with tweaked bass rhythms.
Rounding off the EP “Murmuration” needs little introduction. Now with over 22 Million views on Vimeo and YouTube “Murmuration” has become something of a favorite among discerning music/film fans with it’s soft piano that erupts into a modern take on Jazz, constantly building to a euphoric climax.
