Melodic progressive metal powerhouse NOTHNEGAL is now offering you the opportunity to listen to their new album Decadence with a crystal clear sound on Bose QuietComfort headphones! To enter for the chance to win this awesome prize, you will need to remix the song ‘Janus’. Here is how to proceed:
Go to Season of Mist’s Facebook page and listen to ‘Janus’ in the Media Player, then download the instrumental stems of the song from NOTHNEGAL’s website (you can either download all stems together in a ZIP file or as individual files). To remix the song, you can use your favorite audio editing software (Pro-Tools, Cubase, Logic, Reason or whichever you prefer). You may add your own vocals, guitars, drums or whatever instrument you want, as long as you are creative! Please upload your remix to YouTube or Soundcloud and send the link to or post it on NOTHNEGAL’s Facebook Wall.
The competition will be running for one month, up until January 20th, which is the release international release date for Decadence (U.S. release date is January 24th). In early February, the band will pick the best three remixes and will post them on their Facebook and/or YouTube pages. All three winners will be offered two NOTHNEGAL T-shirts and a copy of Decadence in limited digipak edition. In addition to these items, the very best of the three remixers will get a set of Bose QuietComfort headphones and their remix will be included on NOTHNEGAL’s next album!
NOTHNEGAL recently unveiled a new video trailer for their new album, Decadence, with The trailer samples new music and teases the album’s concept. The video’s graphics and animation was created by Muart/Oto (a Maldivian company) and was directed by Shamheed. Head to now to watch the trailer!
Decadence is mixed by Greg Reely (Fear Factory, Machine Head, DevilDriver) and Ahti Kortelainen (Sentenced, Sonarta Arctica). Decadence marks the first official full-length release from NOTHNEGAL.
Decadence is currently available for pre-order on Season of Mist’s e-shop as a limited digipak edition. Each copy from the first pressing of the album will come with a unique code that can allow you to win a trip to the band’s stomping grounds… the Maldives! The 5-day journey will take place at the Fihalhohi Island Resort in Summer 2012. The winner will receive one return flight to the Maldives, an all-inclusive stay (including scuba-diving and other water sport activities) for two people and a meet and greet with the band. More details can be found in the booklet of the album.
NOTHNEGAL boasts a dark melancholic streak flowing through their modern melodic death metal sound, also weaving in very subtle touches of industrial and progressive elements. NOTHNEGAL was founded by guitarists (and cousins) Hilarl and Fufu on the capital island Malé in 2006 after leaving their previous group Mortuary. The cousins are supported by Six Feet Under, Dååth, ex-Chimaira drummer Kevin Talley and Finnish keyboard player Marco Sneck (Kalmah, Poisonblack). Decadence demonstrates a quick evolution of NOTHNEGAL from their previously released, self-produced four track EP. Mixed by Finnish producer Anssi Kippo (Children of Bodom, Norther), Antidote of Realism (2009) catapulted the Maldivians into the international scene, who successfully supported Finntroll and Samael during their 2010 European tour covering 25 cities in 12 countries.
Decadence is poised to position NOTHNEGAL above fan’s expectations for just another exotic, eclectic, foreign act, offering a melodic, yet crushing door into the minds of the men behind the helm. This may be the first time you are hearing about NOTHNEGAL, but it certainly will not be the last.
