NYC metalcore band Zoume release debut EP ‘Storyteller’

By on November 24, 2014

Hailing from the streets of New York City, Zoume is a burgeoning metalcore act comprised of five fiercely determined individuals. Formed with the intent of bringing something fresh and contemporary to their scene, the members of Zoume are dedicated to music and its ever-evolving nature. Their debut EP Storyteller finds the band building bigger monuments upon the foundations laid by the godfathers of their sound.

Zoume means “we live” in Greek. For the members of Zoume, music is how they live. Immediately after their formation in September 2013, the group set about writing material that would lead to the release of their first singles “Hollow” and “Ember” in March and May of 2014, respectively. Then, after playing a handful shows in their hometown, Zoume spent the summer of 2014 working on their debut EP.

It was a long and dedicated process, but the end result was Storyteller, a record made up of 6 passionate, energetic songs. From the crushing breakdowns of “Loose Links Sink Ships” to the soaring hopefulness of “Ember,” through to the gritty aggression of “I Want You Dead,” Storyteller has something to appeal to every fan of heavy music. It is a culmination of Zoume’s hard work and creativity; a brilliant next-step forward that never forgets the influence of the many great and diverse bands the members listened to growing up in NYC.

While the band is currently promoting Storyteller they are also fortifying for their future and already working on new music. Expect to hear big things soon from Zoume.
