Animal Style Records is excited to announce Asheville, NC’s Old Flings have joined the label’s roster. The band is currently writing songs for their sophomore LP, due out early 2015 on Animal Style.

The new LP will follow up the band’s debut LP, Spite, released on Self Aware & Bitter Melody Records in 2012.

Old Flings is a three piece rock band whose influences range from Samiam to Gin Blossoms to Hot Water Music to 90s-era Revelation Records. While the name Old Flings certainly hints at reflection on love lost and romantic despondency, the band was born out of all emotional struggle and heartache, the kind which every person has and will endure. The lyrics cover other issues, such as broken friendships, anger and betrayal, family, friendship, personal loss to suicide, growing up with religion, hopelessness and depression.

Since the release of their 2012 debut LP, Spite, Old Flings has contributed to four split 7” EPs released across an array of indie labels: North Carolina-based Bitter Melody Records, New York-based Tour Van Records, Tampa, FL-based Kiss of Death Records, and UK-based Speedowax Records. After several tours up and down the East Coast, an excursion into Canada, and several regional and national festivals, the band is taking time off from their semi-regular touring schedule to focus on writing for a forthcoming sophomore full-length album.

In the mean time, you can catch Old Flings at the Fall Line Fest in Richmond, VA on Sept 6th and The Fest in Gainesville, FL on Nov 1st.
