Paradise release deep house mix ‘Promised Land’ feat. Grace

By on February 17, 2015

You might be familiar with Paradise & Grace from their breakout hit single, Oceans. Their former collaboration shot to the #1 spot on the Beatport charts and featured a refreshingly inspirational sound that took the dance community by surprise.

Keeping it classic and smooth, Texas-based producer Paradise is back with vocalist partner Grace for their take of the 88′ house classic by Joe Smooth, Promised Land (classic version). Paradise sticks with the uplifting style but chooses to show off a bit of versatility. Rather than going with the high-energy big room route, he opts for the trendy deep house sound. A groovy bassline, bouncy melody, and Grace’s silvery vocals are the highlights of this modern twist, and its message could be the medicine for your Monday… the underlying theme in this song is that as brothers and sisters, we will all make it to paradise.

Paradise is a place in which existence is positive, harmonious and eternal. It is conceptually a counter-image of the supposed miseries of human civilization, and in Paradise there is only peace, prosperity, and happiness. Paradise is a place of contentment, but it is not necessarily a land of luxury and idleness. Paradise is often described as a “higher place”, the holiest place, in contrast to this world, or underworlds. Notions of Paradise are cross-cultural. ‘paradise’ describes the world before it was tainted by evil. Many associate Paradise with the Garden of Eden, that is, the perfect state of the world prior to the fall from Grace, and the perfect state that will be restored in the World to Come.
