With the unveiling of the album artwork and track listing, Hawaiian alternative trio PEPPER is gearing up for the release of their self-titled album on July 16 via their own LAW Records. In anticipation for its release, the band launched their new single “FKARND” through iTunes, kicked off their PledgeMusic pre-sale, and premiered the pre-video/lyric video on Vevo. “In the spirit of making you, our fans, our first priority, we have decided to team up with PledgeMusic to give you the album first, before it goes on sale anywhere else,” said the band in a statement. “In addition to pre-ordering the record, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase a range of limited edition items, and participate in some cool and unique experiences.” Fans that pledge will immediately receive a free download of “FKARND” along with a downloadable copy of the record on July 16th. Limited edition items including surfboards, skateboards, handwritten lyrics, stage backdrops, golf with the band, and multiple bundle packages are available while supplies last.

The pre-sale can be accessed here:

As an added environmental bonus, the band will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the PledgeMusic campaign to the Kona Chapter of The Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting oceans and beaches worldwide. “It goes without saying that Kona and the ocean are an integral part of Pepper‘s spirit, and giving back to both our home, and the ocean makes Pepper who we are,” they add.

From the feel good, head-nodding “Deep Country” to the sunshine filled jam “Hunny Girl” to the summer anthem “FKARND,” Pepper really expands the band’s palette and displays just how much they’ve grown from their last full-length, 2008’s defining Pink Crustaceans and Good Vibrations. The album was recorded in various studios over the course of a year with Matt Wallace (Maroon 5, Faith No More, O.A.R.) in the producer’s chair. The lyric video for “FKARND” is a collection of the actual auditions for their official video, which will be filmed next month. The explicit version can be seen here: (click here for the “clean” version):

Pepper is Kaleo Wassman (vocals/guitar), Bret Bollinger (vocals/bass), and Yesod Williams (drums). Their self-titled album will be released on July 16th. A national headline tour is in the pipeline.
