By on January 1, 2013

Virginia Beach’s Provoke, Destroy has released their new single, and the first with their new vocalist Mason Ewbank, entitled “Hourglass.” The single was recorded by Andrew Baylis (Honour Crest, Camisado) and may be found as a lyric video on YouTube and on sale on iTunes. “Hourglass” follows the June release of the band’s second EP Rosewell which sprouted the single “Sumatra.” A music video for “Sumatra” was filmed in September and released shortly thereafter on YouTube. The band has also recently appeared in the AP&R section of Alternative Press #292 (October 2012). Provoke, Destroy is planning extensive touring and more recording in 2013.

Provoke, Destroy was formed in early 2011. With the original members, they began to play shows locally in Virginia Beach and recorded their 3 song debut EP that was recorded with Hiram Hernandez at Heavy Hitter Studios in Newport News, Va, and Shawn Miller at Vega Digital Studios in Norfolk, Va. The EP was released on November 25, 2011. The band continued to play shows and write material for their sophomore EP. They took the new material and went back into the studio in early March 2012 to record their second EP Rosewell, recorded by Andrew Baylis (Honour Crest, Camisado). Rosewell is composed of 5 songs, which include “Sumatra” and “This Asylum,” and was released on June 12, 2012. This band does not plan on stopping any time soon. With big plans in the works, Provoke, Destroy will have a bright future. Keep up with them to see what they do next!
