Queensland’s Drawcard announce tour dates in support of new EP ‘Goons LTD’

By on October 13, 2014

Queensland’s party rockers DRAWCARD have enjoyed a SICK year – tours, releases, supports and festivals. Now it’s time to put a big fat ol’ vodka-infused cherry on top. For Drawcard, who sport bachelor degrees in “Tumultuous Partying with Honours” (They went back and earned their ‘Honours’ merits while on the KIDS tour) and effortlessly write catchy melody-laden post punk rock anthems – it’s time to release their EP ‘Goons LTD’, their biggest, bangin’-est yet.

The EP was recorded in March 2014 in Sydney’s STL Studios with rock maestro Sonny Truelove behind the console. The 5 tracks are a cohesive, loud, unrelenting party assault on the ears and best taken in with a cold one in hand and horns in the air. It’s out Friday November 14 through MGM Distribution.

Previous single KIDS enjoyed a tonne of love from triple j and saw play across Home & Hosed, Short Fast Loud, Unearthed and more, as well as Triple MMM and stacks of community radio spins, plus the filmclip enjoyed play on both RAGE and Channel [V] Loud – a pretty solid effort for a couple of Sunny Coast boys.

Drawcard’s 2014 has taken them to festivals and big stages in support of bands like Dead Kennedys, The Bennies, Dead Letter CircusThe Living EndArt Vs Science and more and all over the country on their own tours. They are capping off the year with an east coast tour that takes in Maroochydore (Solbar), Brisbane (New Globe Theatre & The Lab), Sydney (Spectrum), Melbourne (The Espy), Bendigo (Musicman Megastore) and Adelaide (Worldsend Hotel).

Drummer Andi Durkin said “Its been a long time coming and we have put a lot of hard work into Goons LTD. We’ve had a heap of fun recording and touring the first single ‘KIDS’ and cant wait to get back on the road again!”

Drawcard are no strangers to the big stage and have been doing it large in front of throngs of punters for years. They have shared the stage with Taking Back SundayUnwritten LawGrinspoon,GuttermouthBirds of TokyoParkway DriveDead Letter CircusDallas FrascaClosure in Moscow, Dead Kennedys and the list goes on!

Two singles off their sophomore 5 track EP debuted at No.4 and No.5 in the AMRAP Australian Independent Music Charts and remained in the Top 10 for 3 weeks alongside artists including Children Collide, The Temper Trap and Hilltop Hoods PLUS their debut album was mixed by Sylvia Massy (TOOL, Red Hot Chili Peppers, COG) in California and is distributed nationally in the U.S. and Canada with SONY Red.
