Jimmy Hunt first appeared in Montreal in conjunction with the bug in 2000, with an electric guitar, drums, suitcase and all the energy of a full orchestra polarized in one man, much like Bob Log III with a text or an incredible post-Major Fred Fortin Shiner. It has been noticed as songwriter and performer in the group Chocolate, with whom he played twice at the Montreal Francofolies. After a debut EP to critical acclaim, the group toured Quebec as well as being nominated for the ADISQ 2008 for the album Piano elegant for Best Alternative Album, and then to win the Best Rock Album GAMIQ .
Then, Jimmy Hunt puts aside its core rocker and is reincarnated as a crooner on the side of Coeur de pirate with the play “To an infidel,” which is found on the first album of the young artist. Jimmy Hunt also shared the stage with her across Quebec in the first part, or to interpret this duo, especially on the main stage of the FrancoFolies de Montreal 2010.
Since then, Jimmy Hunt is working on his first solo album, which appears in Big Box in October 2010. This self-titled album contains material that is simple, minimalist but still suggestive of a twisted romance and loss of control. Jimmy Hunt is midway between the great French music and folk, with sumptuous arrangements that are reminiscent of the greatest film scores. Like what rock bands are born great modern songwriters.
After a notice in France in spring 2011, particularly in the first part of Thomas Fersen, Jimmy Hunt has been nominated for the prestigious Prix Félix Leclerc of the song in 2011 and has sold out to the Astral Francofolies de Montreal. Jimmy Hunt was also selected as one of the Revelations Radio-Canada 2011-2012, is the emblem of Quebec music.
