By on October 1, 2013

Your favorite remixes of the last five years are by RAC, and today the composer, producer, arranger and recording artist born André Allen Anjos releases his original debut- the Don’t Talk To EP on Cherrytree Records.  André co-wrote and co-produced all four songs on the EP which features an impressive array of guests including, Penguin Prison (“Hollywood”), Tokyo Police Club (“Tourist”), Katie Herzig (“We Belong”) along with Bloc Party’s Kele and rising electro-pop star MNDR who both feature on “Let Go,” the lead single which hit #1 on Hype Machine’s Artist and Popular charts, and Entertainment Weekly deems, “a dreamy end –of-summer pop concoction that will have you grooving well into fall.”  Fortunately, Andre’s collaborators were available for the EP but his luck ran out when it came to the promo video…

RAC, the mastermind behind beloved re-imaginations of tracks by artists ranging from Yeah Yeah Yeahs, to Bob Marley to Bastille — will celebrate the arrival of Don’t Talk To with the debut of his new live tour featuring visuals from Dr. Strangeloop, who has also produced graphics for Skrillex, Flying Lotus and many more.  The 10 date trek kicks off in Portland, OR on November 4th and makes stops at the Troubadour in LA on November 8th and Bowery Ballroom in NYC on November 14th before touching down at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on November 16th.  All dates are below.

Originally born and raised in Portugal to a Portuguese father and an American mother, RAC settled in Portland, Oregon where he began to forge his unique brand of indie-pop by creating over 200 inventive remixes for Kings of Leon, Bob Marley and U2 among many others.  His remixes have reached #1 on the Hype Machine charts 24 times and his first solo recording, “Hollywood,” featuring Penguin Prison hit #1 on all four Hype Machine charts at once, while his tracks have over 12 million Soundcloud spins.
