SixxAM live at The NorVa by Gary Horton

Prayers for the damned Tour, Sixx AM @ The NorVa, Norfolk, VA May 11th 2016

This was a long waited treat to finally have Sixx AM play here in Norfolk. With loyal fans young and old lined up outside The NorVa that stretched almost for block. I could tell that this was going to be an epic night. As we entered a swarm of fans ran to the front of the stage you could feel the excitement building. As the opening band 710 oil a local favorite entered the stage cheers from the crowd as they played a good hefty set. Next up New York based band Cilver hits the stage with female vocalist Uliana. Singing there hit songs like “In my head” and “In America” this young group has a great deal of heartfelt passion put into each song they produce. Check out this band. By now the entire floor of the venue is full waiting for Sixx Am to hit the stage.  Little about Sixx AM an LA band formed by Nikki Sixx, DJ Ashba and James Michael back in 2007. The name came about by taking the last name of Nikki and the first letter of the other member’s last name. So far they have released a total of four studio albums and three Eps. As the lights dim down and the shadows of the bands take place on the stage. The cheers filled the concert hall as the lights turn on and in full force they come out singing “This is gonna hurt” the crowd goes nuts with horns in the air and cheers all around almost as loud as them. They transition into “Rise” a hard hitting get up and stomp type of beat. Next up “When we were gods” little slow beat with some melodic interludes. This crowd with getting their money’s worth with 15 songs played and 2 encore songs ending the night with “Life is Beautiful” and yes it was a beautiful night. I would suggest you go out and check out Sixx AM if they come to your home town.
