The air is getting crisp. Stores are pushing Pumpkin Spice everything. It’s time to gear up for the biggest horror convention on the East Coast for the Halloween season! October 17th through 19th (with a pre-show concert starring King Diamond on the 16th), Rock and Shock will celebrate their 11th year bringing the creeps and the metal (which are often the same thing) to Worcester, MA. We’ll be packing the show with excellent guests, killer bands, awesome vendors, film screenings, heaps of programming and more free stuff than your fragile mind can handle!
This year’s guest lineup includes Brad Dourif of Child’s Play and Lord of the Rings, Tara Reid who wrestles Sharknadoes in her spare time and John Ratzenberger of Motel Hell & Toy Story fame alongside Victoria and Jody Price, Roddy Piper, Jeffrey Combs, Andrew Divoff, Bill Moseley, Sid Haig, Dee Wallace, Jake Busey, Kane Hodder, William Forsythe, Nivek Ogre, Fiona Dourif, Tom Savini, Kristina Klebe, Tiffany Shepis, Alex Vincent, Lynn Lowry, John A Russo, Joe Knetter, Sarah French, Jack Bennett, Justin Beahm, Steve Gonsalves, Mike Aloisi, Tony Atlas, Damien Glonek and Ed Long of Living Dead Dolls and more!
This years’ bands include King Diamond, Overkill, Gwar, Life of Agony, Unearth, Dying Fetus, Twiztid, Kung Fu Vampire, Neurotic November, PWD and a very special, one time only performance by THE ROCKING DEAD featuring Doyle W. Von Frankenstein of Misfits fame, Faster Pussycat guitarist Ace Von Johnson, Deadstar Assembly, Genitorturers drummer Kriz DK, Dope/Device/Lords of Acid guitarist Virus and Life of Agony bassist Alan Robert.
After cruising the show floor to shop with an incredible array of vendors, you can take in programming where amazing folks from the horror industry share their secrets with you, grab a seat for one of our film screenings in this year’s insane lineup (which includes Nightbreed: The Director’s Cut, Wolves starring Jason Momoa & more), visit the Rock and Shock Creative Lair and learn drawing, writing, mask casting, creative activities and more, jump on one of our gaming stations to find out what horrific titles you’ve been missing (featuring F.E.A.R. ONLINE and DreadOut) or unplug in our tabletop gaming area (which includes HORROR AGAINST HUMANITY) sponsored by That’s Entertainment, wave hello to super talented cosplayers roaming the floor or join them in our Cosplay Contest sponsored by Halloween Outlet…or just swing on by the Idle Hands / Dread Central booth, which instantly gets you as much free stuff as you can carry and a ticket to score more awesome swag throughout the day! This year’s partners include Diamond Select and Diamond Comic Distributors (respectively!), Dark Horse Comics, DC Comics, Shout Factory, Quirk Books, VIZ, Funko & more. They’ll also have a display area where you can drool over outstanding collectibles from the past, present and future! Yes folks, we will monopolize EVERY MINUTE OF YOUR TIME for the low, low cost of 1 ticket!
While every day at Rock and Shock provides a kid friendly atmosphere families will love, Sunday is KID’S DAY with a schedule including face painting, pumpkin decorating, a coloring contest and a cosplay contest just for your little monsters. We also show our appreciation for our servicemen on Sunday by offering FREE ADMISSION to all Police, Fire, EMT and Military personnel. Just show your service ID at the doors and you can receive up to 4 free tickets to the convention!
