Rockaway Records acquires world’s largest collection of rare Beatles items currently for sale

By on February 5, 2014

BeatlesRockaway Records, one of the world’s leading exchanges of music memorabilia, has announced their acquisition of several rare collections of vintage Beatles memorabilia on this, the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ history-making year in America. Valued at over half-a-million dollars, these collections feature many items not made available since their initial introduction as promotional and retail pieces nearly five decades ago. These acquisitions only add to an already remarkable collection owned, and for sale, by Rockaway Records. To view these and many other items, check out the video about their Beatles collection and visit them online at www.Rockaway.com.

In honor of the Beatles’ 50th Anniversary and Rockaway Records 35th Anniversary, Rockaway is currently running an online contest throughout the month of February. Simply “like” Rockaway’s Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/rockawayrecords and instantly be entered to win one of two prizes. The first prize includes an original unused Beatles Shea Stadium concert ticket from August 23, 1966 (comes with certificate of authenticity from concert promoter Sid Bernstein), with the second featuring a brand new 13-CD collection of the recently released Beatles box set “The U.S. Albums.”

Rockaway has been a global institution for collectors for 35 years. Owners Wayne Johnson and his brother Gary began re-selling albums in 1979 after attending one of the legendary record swap meets at the Capitol Records parking lot in Hollywood. What began as a hobby over three decades agoquickly turned into a business when they were virtually forced to open a store, if only to house their growing collection!

Through the years, Wayne and Gary have earned an unparalleled reputation for their expertise and are acknowledged as the world’s foremost authorities on the value of rock and roll memorabilia; in particular, that of the Beatles. They are known not only for their experience, but also for their honesty and fairness in appraising, buying and selling memorabilia – traveling the world, often paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for some of the most highly-prized high-end music collectibles and vinyl collections.

Many music industry professionals and insiders hang on to everything from promotional items to troves of vinyl. Some will discover that their collections are worth fortunes, while others will have items that will likely never be worth anything. Some valuable pieces have simply been forgotten about in places from attics to basements to storage units and, to the surprise and delight of their owners, they can net hundreds of thousands of dollars. Wayne and Gary’s expertise is virtually unmatched and they can tell with a quick look whether a poster, an album or a promo item is worth thousands or whether it isn’t worth the space to store it.

Celebrating its 35th Anniversary this year, Rockaway’s expansion of its current offerings and continual acquisitions have earned it acknowledgement by collectors and experts of music memorabilia as one of the finest sources for quality music collectibles and vinyl worldwide, frequently attracting A-list music stars and Hollywood celebrities alike.
