The San Diego Music Thing — a music and media conference — is taking place starting today, Thursday September 11th through Saturday September 13th. Fly PR is proud to announce company founder, Ilka Erren Pardinas, has been added to the music Publicity Panel with Beth Martinez (September 12, 2014, 10:30 am to 11:15 am in Hall 2 at Town & Country Resort). PUBLICITY PANEL DESCRIPTION:
This group of esteemed publicists will be talking about the best publicity practices in the digital world. There are more ways than ever before to transmit information and this panel will navigate you through the best approaches on best presenting yourself to and most importantly getting the attention of the media. On this panel you will learn how to build a press story, what materials are needed and how to best present yourself to the media. This group is made up of expert image sculptors and will to through the ins and out on the importance of materials, approach to the media. On this panel you will also learn best practices, for hiring and working with a publicist. How does billing work? Who should I hire? This panel will have he answers — panelists include: Beth Martinez, Daniel Gill, Ilka Erren Pardinas, Nicole Poulos, Stefan Goldby.

This year also marks the introduction of SDMTU, a music business boot camp developed for college students looking to pursue careers in the music industry. SDMTU will be lead by Storm Gloor, a professor of Music and Entertainment Industry Studies at the University of Colorado in Denver (National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences member, Music Business Associate member) and will take place on Thursday September 11 from 12pm-5pm.
