Sleeperstar to release new single ‘Apocalypse’ from upcoming album ‘Lost Machines’

By on August 6, 2014

Before Texas alternative-pop group Sleeperstar releases their sophomore album, LOST MACHINES on October 13, 2014,  the band will release the first single off of the album entitled, “Apocalypse” on August 11, 2014. The single will be available at all major digital retailers. The band will post the accompanying video for the new song upon its release.

The group has been tantalizing fans with track listings, studio footage, and even a free song over the past few months.  Now they are primed to reveal the result of their year-long collaboration with Nashville-based producer Dustin Burnett. “We’ve been ready to put this out for a while,” says vocalist Chris Pearson. “It’s been a long time coming. It’s hard to know when it’s the right time to show everybody what you’ve worked on for so long, but it feels right and we couldn’t be more excited.”

Featuring all five members of the band and a costumed ninja or two, the video for the song is the band’s most creatively ambitious yet. Directed by Texas filmmaker Jordan Laessig, you can see the trailer for the video at

Guitarist Nick Box says: “Filming this video was unbelievably fun. How many times in your life do you get to make a music video that features ninjas, for a song called ‘Apocalypse?!’”
Fans and followers are invited to participate in an immersive experience surrounding the release of the new single. Anytime someone on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter posts anything using the hashtag #Sleeperstar – their posts will get reposted on the band’s official website at
“We want people to go nuts with this. Make a ninja costume out of some old curtains and post it. Run around and kick your friends in the shins. Just have some fun with this and tag it. Then we’ll feature it on our site,” says vocalist Chris Pearson on the interactive experience.

Sleeperstar has been one of Texas’s best kept music secrets. With numerous record contracts offered over the years, they’ve turned down every one to remain independent. They’ve done well for themselves inside of that independence, playing shows with several national acts in and out of their home state. The band has also scored numerous television placements; including their song, “Everything Must Find It’s Place” being used in the trailer for the Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock movie, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, and their song, “I Was Wrong” being featured prominently on the CW’s Vampire Diaries.

Sleeperstar has released two independent EPs, TO SPEAK, TO LOVE, TO LISTEN (2008) and BLUE EYES (2013.) LOST MACHINES is the band’s second full-length album, following the 2010 release of JUST ANOTHER GHOST.

Sleeperstar is Jake Lester, Nick Box, Chris Pearson, Shaun Menary, and Geoff Ashcraft.
