Snowden’s new single, “So Red,” is being premiered this week on NPR’s All Songs Considered. Last month, the band released a sneak peak video for the song, which was shot during their show in Washington, DC, at DC9. Earlier in the year, Stereogum premiered the band’s first single, “The Beat Comes,” and said the song “presents Snowden as a band with a strong sense of what it does well, all muted yearning and rousing choruses and a locomotive pulse, with richly textured production.”

Snowden is also announcing a new US tour for this spring in support of their new album, No One In Control, out May 14 on Serpents and Snakes. The tour kicks off with two nights in New York City, playing Manhattan’s Mercury Lounge on May 30 and Cameo in Brooklyn the following night. The month-long run will wrap up in Boston on June 26.

No One In Control is a remarkable collection, lit with impassioned creativity and coruscating emotional power. Jordan Jeffares – the multi-talented mind behind Snowden – toiled for almost six years, pushing himself and his music ever closer to madness, and that hermetic intensity can be heard in the record’s every finely etched facet. With its seamless integration of haunting melodies, rhythmic ingenuity, and hypnagogic songcraft, No One In Control sees Snowden’s artistry and ambition ascending to hitherto untouched new heights.

Tickets are on sale now.
