Strange VIP – No Future EP out now

By on January 23, 2013

In the cold and frosty beginning of 2013, Trouble & Bass brings you another black and devious package designed to blow up discerning dance floors. The No Future EP contains five quick and dirty tracks brought to you by Strange VIP, the production alias of T&B crewmember The Captain 666. As Strange VIP, he combines his background in the East Coast hardcore scene, his love of black metal and horror/Sci-Fi movies and his obsession with modern-day rap and R&B into a haunting future hiphop vision that’s strictly for the possessed.

No Future kicks off with the moody alien invasion of “Funeral at Skyland Mountain”, a wet dream starring Agent Scully, clever flips and a snake pit full of crispy-ass snares. Things only get harder from here, as “Back to H3ll” warps your mind with monstrous synth stabs and samples that already sent Freddy and Jason running back to the parking lot. “Take Me From Heaven” continues the onslaught, warping heavy riffs into a driving trap banger perfect for your dropped Caddy or Juggalo funeral procession. Medieval movie choirs—on some Angels & Demons shit y’all—give “When I Die” a huge dramatic flair that will shock the ravers, before the EP closes out with the seriously cinematic “No One Left”, just over three minutes of murder and mayhem set to a Dirty South tempo.

Shot through with screams and scary laughs, this is one release that’s more twisted than Bushwick Bill’s worst nightmare, with not a “Hey” or “Damn son, where’d you find this” in sight. Strap in and join us on this bizarre ride to the dark side, but don’t forget your security blanket.
