TODAY Italian psych outfit Dumbo Gets Mad releases their much anticipated sophomore LP Quantum Leap on Rome-based Bad Panda Records streaming in full on Impose (read the review HERE). As the title implies the album covers immense sonic ground, showcasing a vibrant spectrum of seriously irresistible psychedelic pop.
Recorded between Los Angeles and a basement studio in Italy, the record was mixed and produced by the band and mastered in LA by the very talented Kelly Hibbert (Aloe Blanc, Flying Lotus, J Dilla) at Elysian Masters. The 13-track LP includes a handful of fantastic singles like “Radical Leap” and Azealia Banks re-imagination “Tahiti Hungry Jungle” which are still available for stream and embed below:
The project’s 2011debut Elephants at the Door (Bad Panda Records) garnered international attention for its fresh take on eclectic psych pop with an experimental lean (you can still stream it HERE). Now with the mind-blowing follow-up out in its entirety, it’s clear that Dumbo Gets Mad has quite simply done it again.
