T-Boy Records, Universal Music Enterprises’ (UMe) label partnership with veteran rock manager Andy Gould, is celebrating out-of-the-gate success with the Top 10 Billboard debuts of their first two album releases. Rob Zombie’s April release, Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor (Zodiac Swan/T-Boy/UMe) debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200. And this week’s No. 6 debut of Megadeth’s new Tradecraft/T-Boy/UMe album, Super Collider, is the band’s highest chart bow since 1994’s Youthanasia. Both albums achieved much higher chart positions in most international territories than their previous releases.
“When we decided to launch the label,” remarks Gould, “I’d always suspected these bands had been a little underserved by the major labels. The results we’ve already seen worldwide show that great music, great artists, and the dedication of a great team, produces meaningful success for these bands. And with both artists, we’re only just beginning to work these records.”
Already off to fantastic start, the T-Boy/UMe partnership will continue to roll out significant promotions for these projects in the coming months, as Zombie starts the Mayhem Tour on June 29th, and Megadeth starts another round of Gigantour on July 3rd. Both acts are also experiencing significant success at radio. Zombie’s current single “Dead City Radio” is top 15 at Active Rock, with another single, a cover of Grand Funk Railroad’s anthemic “We’re An American Band” launching just in time for the July 4th weekend. Likewise, the title track from Megadeth’s Super Collider took the No. 1 position on CMJ’s Loud Rock Chart this week.
