The Airborne Toxic Event Announce First Leg of 2013 US Spring Tour; Presale Begins Today

By on December 13, 2012

Los Angeles’ The Airborne Toxic Event are happy to announce new spring tour dates for 2013, beginning on March 30 in San Diego. Prior to the West Coast dates in the spring, the band are playing New Year’s Eve at the Metro in Chicago, IL, and will follow that show with an already sold-out show at New York City’s Webster Hall on January 15. Because the show at Webster Hall sold out so quickly, the band have added a second Webster Hall date on January 16. The following week, the band will be playing in their hometown of Los Angeles at The Mayan Theater on Jan 23. These dates are the band’s first since they began recording their as-yet-untitled third full-length LP. Pre sale for these new spring dates begins today, with public on-sale beginning this weekend. For the itinerary, please see below.

The band are nearly finished recording their third album, due out sometime in the spring of 2013. They are recording in Nashville alongside producer Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse). The album follows the 2011 release of their acclaimed sophomore album All At Once, which was called “a crushing classic” by BBC and “the rock’n’roll equivalent of a tear-soaked novella” by SPIN.

The Airborne Toxic Event have earned their reputation as an aggressive touring act over the years. The band played more than 350 dates in support of their acclaimed 2008 debut album. In addition to their rigorous touring schedule, the band have performed on NBC’s The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, CBS’s The Late Show With David Letterman, Conan, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and CBS’s Last Call With Carson Daly.
