TheBrooklynWhat are a NYC born and raised independent rock n’ roll band, formed in 2006 by a group of friends that grew up playing music together. Inspired by the perfect three minute pop of Guided By Voices and the underdog poetry of The Replacements, they play a brand of rock n’ roll that is passionate, diverse, and visionary. In a time of static spectators and shoegazing performers, the band plays with their hearts on theirsleeves, inspiring crowds to give up the cool and dance.

Hot Wine, the band’s second full length LP, puts the full range of the group’s creativity on display for the first time. The album’s fifteen tracks address themes of social alienation, working life, romance and death against the backdrop of a changing city. The dual guitars weave through intricate, Television-esque duels, speeding two minute punk rock songs and dreamy power-pop. Lead singer Jamie Frey croons, screams and testifies as the band moves from world to world, one minute pursuing aural violence worthy of Sonic Youth, the next delving into a surrealist folk-punk fantasy. Hot Wineis an independent rock album with true grit, made by young men searching for truth, beauty and rock n’ roll heart in the modern world.
