The Chevin Release New Music Video for “Drive”
Yorkshire-based rockers The Chevin are excited to release their newest music video for their newest single “Drive.” Directed by Tyler Oliver (Feature film “Forget Me Not”, The Bravery video “Unconditional”), the video is a post-modern tour de force, dripping in nostalgia with vintage footage of marching bands and classic cars juxtaposed with plenty of colorful electric light effects, with plenty of jittery editing. The overall effect is positively disorienting, but the music of “Drive” keeps the viewer grounded even as the voice of lead singer Coyle Girelli reaches soaring heights typically reserved for Roy Orbison or a young Bono.
From panoramic vistas from the peaks of stately Yorkshire ridges to drug-running ranches in the deserts of Texas, The Chevin are a band steeped in natural grandeur. They’re a band who grew up relishing the magnificent swathes of moorland stretching from York to Leeds visible from atop the hill overlooking their home town of Otley – the geological marvel after which they’re named – and instinctively were destined to recreate the wonder of it in music. The Chevin will release their debut album later this year on So Recordings, which follows last year’s November EP release on Fierce Panda.
