The Dismemberment Plan’s ‘Uncanney Valley’ is out now & new video for “Waiting”

By on October 16, 2013

The video for “Waiting,” directed by Billy Bergeroth, stars several students actors from Gallaudet University, the only liberal arts college in the country for deaf and hard of hearing students.  Inspiration for the video came from frontman Travis Morrison’s time spent at The Ugly Mug, a bar in Washington, DC. It was close to Gallaudet, and a popular deaf student hangout at the time. Being around drunk deaf folks arguing, flirting, and generally doing what drunk people do made an impression on Morrison, and when it came time to think of video ideas he associated those experiences with the feeling of the song.
