My Chemical Romance Announces THE END

It appears that it is the end of an era for one of the most influential bands of our time. MCR has spanned genres of Rock n Roll, Punk, Post Hardcore, Pop Punk and every other sub-genre that spawned from any of the aforementioned. Each and every person reading this can relate an MCR song to an important moment in their life. It is an undeniable fact. MCR has probably had a bigger impact on your life than you may even know. Musically they have been a driving force to more than a fair share of bands. Many have tried to emulate what MCR was but undoubtedly they fell short and failed to live up to an unobtainable glory reached by few. Though MCR may have not had such a major part of the scene as of late, it is still a scene they helped create. A proverbial light has gone dim. One of the good ones have gone away.

R.I.P. MCR – DaveHHM

MCR, you founded such an exciting musical era for me in my early high school years: a time of rainy days, when The Used had “lost all doubt in a chemical romance” and I had a special musical community to amerce myself in. The inspiration and musical movement you inspired are, without a doubt, some of the major reasons I chose a career in the music industry. Later, I was reluctant to embrace your new sound but sure enough songs like “Bullet Proof Heart” and “The Only Hope For Me Is You” became the anthems for my summer of 2011. I will miss you and “I’m not okay” with this, but because of you the world will truly never take my heart.

Statement from the band:

“Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We’ve gotten to go places we never knew we would. We’ve been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We’ve shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure.
