The Griswolds

Australian indie rock band The Griswolds is excited to share the new video for their breakout hit “Beware The Dog”, premiering on the VEVO homepage.  You can watch it at VEVO here. In the video a woman in red and her werewolf friend terrorize a small town, bringing new meaning to the song’s title. You may have heard the single before since it’s climbing towards top 20 at Alternative radio with recent adds at LA”s hugely influential KROQ and KYSR, SF’s LIVE 105, and Chicago’s CD101, as well as reaching the #1 most played track on Sirius’s Alt Nation.

Additionally, a new track off the album “Right on Track” premieres today at Paste, who called their music “catchy, rock-infused pop sound.” “Right on Track” goes live digitally tomorrow with album pre-orders.

You’ll also be able to hear both songs with the release of their debut album BE IMPRESSIVE, out August 25th on Wind-up Records; the album was produced by Tony Hoffer, best known for his work with M83, Beck, and Fitz & The Tantrums.   BE IMPRESSIVE is available for pre-order. Fans can pre-order the album and receive instant downloads of the single “Beware the Dog” plus a brand new song “Down and Out,” which you can also stream right here.

In other great news, the band has also moved on to the next round on Spotify’s Emerge campaign earned by user shares, new followers, unique listener per day, and individual streams. Past winners include Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Bastille and Atlas Genius and the program is a great indicator for who will break out next.

The Griswolds formed almost three years ago by singer/guitarist Christopher Whitehall and lead guitarist Daniel Duque-Perez, and joined by bassist Tim John and keyboard / percussionist Lachlan West.  The Griswolds were thrown into the spotlight immediately after they found instant success in early 2012 when they became Australia’s Triple J “Unearthed” feature artist and won a slot on the 2012 Parklife Festival lineup alongside Passion Pit. They have gone on to play Oz’s Big Day Out Festival, and have toured with St Lucia, San Cisco, Django Django among others.  The band made their SXSW debut at this year’s festival and quickly named  the band to watch by Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, AU Review, The Atlantic.
