Chicago-based rock band The Kickback is excited to premiere their new song “Sting’s Teacher Years” from their EP Kill Fee, out now. The shimmering rock track showcases the band’s songwriting, which Rolling Stone says, “conjures the very best parts of The Veils, The Walkmen and The Killers,” adding the band create “lean, nervy songs that snarl and snap.”

After sharing the stage with bands like Smith Westerns, White Rabbits and Tapes ‘n Tapes, The Kickback is excited to kick off a 40-date US headlining tour. The Chicago Sun-Timessimply calls the band’s live show “explosive” and declares their music “aggressive but melodic and sometimes glammy roots-rock.”
When brothers Billy (vocals, guitar) and Danny (drums) Yost moved from South Dakota to Chicago, they joined up with Eamonn Donnelly (bass) and Johnny Ifergan (guitar) via an ad on Craigslist and The Kickback was born. The band has been hard at work on their debut LP slated for a Spring 2013 release. Stay tuned for more info!
