The Midnight Moan

“Mulberry” is the opening track off The Midnight Moan‘s upcoming album, Comes In Phases and features Tom “Bones” Malone (former SNL band, currently in Letterman’s band) on Saxophone. “Mulberry” was inspired by Lou Reed and VU and was actually written on Mulberry Street during a four month stint of homelessness while Bradbury was crashing at an illegal sublet with no electricity during a brutally hot summer. Like all the other tracks on the record, it was produced by Eddy Offord (best known for his work with YES and Emerson, Lake & Palmer) who came out of a 20 year retirement after seeing them live. Comes In Phases will be released next week on Tuesday, May 20th, but is also streaming in full on Ground Sounds until Monday night.

The Midnight Moan is a New York based five-piece rock band focused on bringing back the old-school vibes of New York’s 60’s and 70’s rock scene, but with a modern twist. The Midnight Moan’s lead vocalist and songwriter Andrew Pain Bradbury spent the early 2000’s writing about nightlife and restaurants in NYC, while making music on the side. After a night in New Orleans, APB ended up on a few stages and decided to pursue making music full time. Back in NYC, he was joined by long-time pals Joe Sweeney (Bass) and Brian Baker (Guitar/Back Vocals), along with Steve Cuiffo (Guitar), Ricky Gordon (Drums). The Midnight Moan’s latest collaboration fuses distinctive styles ranging from electric rock, country, blues to garage rock and more.
