“Running Red Lights,” a brand new track fromThe Postelles, was released today by +1 Records. Fans can check the song out now on Soundcloud and purchase it at iTunes by clicking HERE.
The band recently spoke with NYLONabout “Running Red Lights,” which singer Daniel Balk describes as an ode to “whatever you’re doing in your life that you probably shouldn’t be, but you just can’t stop.”You can find the interview HERE
The Postelles will headline a pair of hometown shows this month, playing the MOMA PopRally in New York City on September 6th and the Cameo Gallery in Williamsburg on September 14th. They’ll be on the road this fall, beginning with a show at Grand Valley University in Allendale, MI on October 19th. Tickets are on sale now for the tour, which includes stops at New York City’s Best Buy Theatre (10/25) and the House of Blues in Los Angeles (11/20). See below for itinerary.
In a live review, the LA Weekly observed: “[The Postelles] delivered a high-energy, highly-danceable set…laying on the hooks and melodies thick and with unquestionable confidence” while Flavorpill praised their “killer live show” and Vanity Fair urged: “everyone go see them on tour.”
Tracks from The Postelles’ self-titled debut album, which was produced by the band and The Strokes’ Albert Hammond, Jr., have been licensed for television (ABC’s “Revenge,” Fox’s “Raising Hope, the CW’s “Vampire Diaries” and “90210”), film (“The Five-Year Engagement,” produced by Judd Apatow, and the trailer for How Do You Know, which starred Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd, Owen Wilson and Jack Nicholson) and video games (EA Sport’s Need For Speed The Run). The quartet has been in the studio working on their follow up album.
Rolling Stonesaid: “the Postelles look to the jittery doo-wop of Elvis Costello and the buoyant pop of Motown girl groups. Their debut…swaggers with tales of lost love set to memorable melodies.” SPINpraised their “hooked-at-the-gills, head-bobbing rock’n’roll groove.”
The Postelles – comprising Daniel Balk (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), David Dargahi (vocals/lead guitar), John Speyer (bass) and Billy Cadden (percussion) – have toured with Kings of Leon, Vampire Weekend, Interpol, The Kills, The Wombats, Fun,Young the Giant, The Kooks and Free Energy. They’ve played such major festivals such as Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo (twice), All Points West and Iceland Airwaves, performed at The Who Tribute Concert at New York City’s Carnegie Hall and supported the legendary Chuck Berry.
