Following two major North American support tours with Bon Iver and The Civil Wars, and hugely successful appearances at SXSW 2012 and 13 – where The Staves “offered gorgeous three-part harmonies in songs about romance and mortality,” (New York Times) – UK-based siblings Emily, Jessica, and Camilla Staveley-Taylor announce details of their debut North American headline run with their band. Tickets are available for pre-sale now at General on-sale for the tour will begin March 29.

The three sisters’ songwriting is as striking as it is exquisite, a melding of still, bright English folk and sublime West Coast pop that, performed live, is capable of plunging an audience into awed silence. The dates begin May 15th at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia, and will run through June 22nd, concluding at Los Angeles’ Bootleg Theatre. The tour comes on the heels of the recent US release of The Staves’ critically-acclaimed debut album Dead & Born & Grown.

Dead & Born & Grown was released in the UK this past November to stellar reviews, and is the first record on which renowned father-and-son producers Glyn and Ethan Johns (The Rolling Stones, The Eagles, Ryan Adams, Ray LaMontagne, Kings of Leon) share production credits.  The album showcases their songwriting and their voices to quietly beautiful effect, but undeniably it’s out on the road that those voices are at the most affecting.

The Staves have also revealed a new music video for “Facing West,” taken from the album, and filmed in Big Sur, California. The video can be viewed on The Staves’ official YouTube channel (
