Houston four piece The Tontons will release their new 7″ Bones this February in advance of their appearance at SXSW 2013. The band made waves last year on account of their breakout EP Golden, which had The New York Times writing that the “hard-touring quartet trades in smart, hooky pop songs built around the glimmering blues growl of the band’s leader, Asli Omar.” Meanwhile, MTV Buzzworthy drew comparisons to Metric, going on to say that “the group’s energetic rock has a home in plenty of other genres.”

The Tontons are fronted by Asli Omar, who’s commanding vocals draw instant attention, while bassist Tom Nguyen’ rumble forms the foundation of the band. Brothers Adam and Justin Martinez come in with titanic guitars and drums to round out a powerful yet buoyant rock ‘n’ roll. Such prowess live and on tape has lead to the four piece been fully embraced by their native Houston, and The Tontons have hugged the city back with relentless gigging around town to sold out crowds. The band, who are currently putting the finishing touches on their next full-length album, will celebrate the release of the Bones 7″ with shows in Austin and Houston, TX this Febraury, 1st and 2nd.

Upcoming Shows:

01 – Austin, TX – Stubb’s (7″ Release Show)
02 – Houston, TX – Watlers (Home Town 7″ Release Show)
