– The Venetia Fair partnered up with MTV Buzzworthy for the exclusive world premiere of their hilarious new music video, “The Day I Set Them Free”. The alt-punk quintet has culminated their eccentric persona and “carnival-esque” sound into a visual raid of mischief. Known for their ridiculous antics and insane live performances, this video treatment delivers all the goods TVF fans have come to expect and will undoubtedly leave newcomers wondering just how far will this band go. Singer Benny Santoro explains their idea behind the concept, stating,
“When I was a kid my favorite movie was Drop Dead Fred. It was about a woman who, upon learning that her husband is leaving her, is revisited by her childhood imaginary friend. For this video we wanted to take that idea to a somewhat darker place and imagine what life would be like if the imaginary friend(s) never left. Our good friend and merch guy, Asspoop, stars alongside an adorable young look-alike named Bailey, both of whom spend the entire video with their imaginary friends – The Venetia Fair. Young Bailey was, of course, horrified to meet the man we had all decided was to be his future self. This video also allowed director Scott Hansen to seek vengeance on a Hummer (Thanks to Dave at Hellhound Music) since Scott had been hit by a hummer while riding his bike a week prior and was still quite bandaged on the day of shooting.”
ABOUT THE VENETIA FAIR:
Since the release of their debut album “The Circus” in 2009, The Venetia Fair have been making serious noise in the music scene with their dynamic fusion of sound, hitting everything from pop to punk – hardcore to jazz. Imagine The Used meets Foxy Shazam combined with Panic At The Disco’s first album on acid and you might have something as unique and influential as The Venetia Fair. Often referred to as brilliantly odd, schizophrenic, or mental, the band takes their unique genre and translate it to a fierce and theatrical live show, leaving fans wondering what they just experienced and craving more.
Consisting of Benny Santoro (vocals), Mr. Chark (bass), Mike Abiuso (guitar), Joe Brown (keys), and Chris Constantino (drums), TVF has shared the stage with notable acts such as Foxy Shazam, Finch, The Sleeping, Vanna, Bless The Fall, Hit The Lights, Dance Gavin Dance, The Dear Hunter, Versa Emerge, Our Last Night. They amazed and entertained fans across the country when they were selected to play Warped Tour 2011 alongside the release of their EP “The Pits”. The band partnered up again with Steve Sopchak at Square Studios in Syracuse, NY to record their new LP. The quintet worked with Steve on “The Pits”, and after that experience felt he was the only man to take on their latest project.
The Venetia Fair released their 2nd full-length album “Every Sick Disgusting Thought We’ve Got In Our Brain” on March 1st to rave reviews. They were named one of Alternative Press’ “100 Bands You Need To Know in 2013” and have a few more things up their sleeves for fans this year. Stay tuned; it’s only just begun.
“The title of The Venetia Fair’s new Kickstarter-funded album, Every Sick, Disgusting Thought We’ve Got In Our Brain, speaks for itself as it showcases the band’s signature maniacal spin on the modern cabaret-rock sound.”
