Innovative rock duo The Violet Lights, are thrilled to announce the release of their debut EP SEX & SOUND. In support of its April release, the Los Angeles based band via Green Bay, Wisconsin will bring their fresh collection of songs full of muscular guitars and hummable hooks across the country for a 45-city North American tour that kicks off January 25th, culminating at this years South by Southwest.

Recorded at the legendary Hollywood studio Sunset Sound, SEX & SOUND – a self-produced and self-funded record – is a carefully constructed, compelling collection and mix of radio-friendly Britpop, NYC garage rock and indie-pop.

Check out the title track here, which the band is offering for free download (approved to embed):

The Violet Lights got its start when Joel Nass and Amber Garvey left their hometown of Green Bay, WI and headed west without any plans or money. Getting by in LA while developing their music has proven to be a trying yet colorful adventure for the two, a story chronicled on their blog and accompanied by their own uniquely stylized photographs and videos. This running narrative and coordinated visual aesthetic is a considerable complement to the bands project, engaging fans in their ongoing story and development. Check it out here:
