THE WAVE PICTURES UNVEIL VIDEO FOR “BLUE HARBOUR”
|The Wave Pictures – Blue Harbour|
The Wave Pictures are happy to present the Ben Reed directed video for their song “Blue Harbour.” The song is off their recently released album Beer In The Breakers (Moshi Moshi).
The British trio made their North American debut last year with the release of the double albumInstant Coffee Baby and If You Leave It Alone. Already sporting a decades long history in the UK and Europe that spanned well over 30 releases, Time Out New York noted that it was “unlikely to encounter any band at such a late hour – particularly one as engaging as The Wave Pictures.”Pitchfork were charmed by the “keenly observed domestic tableaus, uniquely English perspectives on hubris and buffoonery, and ample insta-quotes,” and Spin named them a “Band To Watch” at SXSW 2011 among many other positive endorsements.
Of the new album, Drowned In Sound wrote that in an era when band’s “can capture the collective imagination with the release of an MP3 and a faux snarling press shot, bands like The Wave Pictures stand-out as bastions of the old way of doing it. Self-releasing six albums and gigging relentlessly for the best part of a decade before being picked-up by a label, The Wave Pictures are a band that saw the climb to getting signed, sniffed at the lift and took the stairs.”
