Melbourne, FL – Dec 29, 2011 – Non-profit organization To Write Love on Her Arms announced the date of their annual HEAVY AND LIGHTevent to be held Saturday January 7, 2012 at the House of Blues Orlando. An evening of songs, conversation and hope will feature Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional, David Bazan of Pedro The Lion, William Fitzsimmons, Mariah McManus, Noah Gundersen, the return of spoken word poet Anis Mojgani, as well as speaking by TWLOHA founder Jamie Tworkowski and others. In addition, everyone who attends the show is given a list of local (counseling and treatment) resources.
“We’re so excited for the return of HEAVY AND LIGHT. It’s our favorite night of the year. It’s not a benefit show. It’s a creative attempt to move and encourage people to get the help they need and deserve,” says Tworkowski.
In previous years, the event has hosted acoustic performances by Jon Foreman, Dustin Kensrue, Mat Kearney, Aaron Gillespie, Bryce Avary, Stephen Christian, Anthony Raneri, Aaron Marsh, Zach Williams, Josh Moore and Damion Suomi.
The event’s name comes from “Our hearts are heavy and light. We laugh and scream and sing. Our hearts are heavy and light,” which Tworkowski wrote in response to the death of Hawthorne Heights guitarist Casey Calvery on November 24th, 2007.
