2014’s Festival Season will be ending with a big loud bang as The Toadies announce the first round of bands for their annual Dia De Los Toadies fest. Scheduled to take place in the band’s hometown of Fort Worth at Panther Island Pavilion on September 12th and 13th, the show promises more of the same talent from Texas and beyond.
Frontman Vaden Todd Lewis on the 2014 line-up: “As a Fort Worth native I’m very excited to bring Dia De Los Toadies to Panther Island Pavilion for a second go-round. I love wandering around and seeing all the artists we’ve selected for the event – some of them for the first time. We’ve got a rock-solid lineup again this year, with very DFW-centric theme. It’s gonna be great!”
Guitarist Clark Vogeler adds: “I’ve been a fan of, and friends with the Old 97’s for years. We’ve been trying to work it out to have them at the festival for years, and I couldn’t be happier that it finally came together.
We were recently turned on to Residual Kid and immediately added them to the bill. They’re a young band that’s doing really cool shit, so I’m looking forward to checking out their set. Pleasant Grove has long been one of my favorite bands, and it’s a privilege to have them join our little shindig.”
The initial line-up includes Dallas’ own alternative country-rock legends, the Old 97’s, Fort Worth blues rockers, Quaker City Nighthawks, roots-rockers Somebody’s Darling and the reunited Dallas quintet, Pleasant Grove. As tradition holds, the Toadies will play a stripped down acoustic set the first night and rip the stage apart the second night, fully fledged and rocking’, playing Rubberneck in its entirety along with a host of other fan favorites.
Clark Vogeler on playing Rubberneck to a hometown audience: “We’ve been playing Rubberneck from front to back nightly for months all over the country, but we haven’t played it in Ft. Worth. That we’ll be doing it at our own festival makes perfect sense.”
The second day/night will play host to two stages, a VIP area with full bar overlooking the festival and a beach area with tubing and beach bar.
Tickets are on sale now through Prekindle.
