Trixie Whitley has released her debut record, Fourth Corner (Strong Blood), today, January 29. Fourth Corner was recorded in New York with producer/keyboardist Thomas Bartlett (aka Doveman, who’s also worked with Glen Hansard, Antony and the Johnsons, Grizzly Bear and the National), engineer Pat Dillett (David Byrne, St. Vincent, Mary J. Blige), with string arrangements by Rob Moose (Antony, Bon Iver).
This Thursday, January 31, Whitley will celebrate the album release with a show at New York’s Le Poisson Rouge. She will begin a European tour on February 21 in Gent, Belgium.
Whitley was featured on NPR’s Weekend Edition Sunday this past weekend and a Jon Pareles-penned review of Fourth Corner is in today’s New York Times. The NPR piece can be heard HERE and the Times review can be read HERE.
