Troy Harley releases NEW music video for “Someone Like Me”
Born Roman Arkhipov, Troy Harley amassed no small measure of fame in his native Russia, appearing on a popular TV talent competition, winning awards and selling out tour dates in Europe and Asia. Most performers would call that a dream; but Troy wanted to be the frontman of a seminal rock act (like his favorite bands – Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard and AC/DC). So he turned his back on homeland celebrity and moved to Los Angeles to form and front his own rock band.
“There are so many beautiful people in the world, and believe it or not, you’re one
of them. Everyone should be able to look in the mirror and say — ‘Someone like me
deserves to be happy. Someone like me deserves love.’ Even when things don’t go
according to plan. That’s why I wanted to record this song.” – Troy Harley
“His voice is amazing; he is definitely star material.” – Randy Jackson
“I wanted to show the people we take for granted. The people who take us for
granted. Like the song says — falling in love can feel like crashing without
a parachute. But you have to get back up. Sometimes just to crash all over
again. That’s life. And we are all ‘Someone Like Me’.” – Director Phil Lee
JK arranged a meeting with Grammy-winning producer Randy Jackson, who was electrified by his magnetism and the unique timbre of his voice. Randy decided to sign Troy to his indie record liable, Friendship Collective, and with a team in place it was time to get him into the studio.
On November 6, 2012, Troy’s first official single “Someone Like Me” was made available for purchase at online retailers. A feel-good pop/rock song, the track was co-written by Rune Goldberg (Adam Lambert, Daughtry, Kris Allen) and Zac Maloy (Carrie Underwood, Our Lady Peace, Hanson, Chris Daughtry), who also co-penned “End of Summer.” “Someone Like Me” was recorded at Henson Studios with Randy Jackson once again at the board. With a verse that showcases Troy’s exceptional voice, plus a catchy chorus chock full of “whoa-oh-oooh”-laden ear candy, the track is certain to make fans of listeners coast-to-coast.
Digital copies of Troy Harley’s “Someone Like Me,” and “End of Summer“ can be purchased on iTunes or Amazon. For other questions, promo requests or to schedule an interview, feel free to contact me any time.
