Turkey’s Beduk is one of those rare artists who can do everything. He writes his own words and music; does his own production, recording, and mixing; and also plays live instruments, in addition to lead and backing vocals. As a graduate in graphic design, he also creates all the artwork for his records, which are released on his own label, Audiology Records, distributed through Sony Music/RED. Beduk, who is highly motivated and inspired by the sounds, lifestyles and music of the 70’s as well as indie rock, electronic dance, house and dubstep, creates music with an ever-inventive electronic palette.
Following the success of his 2010 album, “GO”, which spent three months in the Top 40 at the US College Radio charts, peaking at #14, he is proud to announce the US release of his new disc, “Overload”, which will be available digitally on May 7th. The new record, which was #1 for two weeks on iTunes Turkey’s best-selling albums list, and remains at #1 there for CD sales on electronic dance albums, features twelve dance/electro/rock tracks, including two covers: The Subways’ “Rock’n Roll Queen” and Eagles of Death Metal’s “I Only Want You“.

Unlike many artists on the EDM scene, Beduk performs with a full live band, including drums, electric guitar, bass, keyboards and live DJ. To support the upcoming stateside release of “Overload”, he will be making his US live debut this Friday, 4/26 in NYC at Drom and on Saturday, 4/27 in Boston at Bijou.
In his home country, he has managed to create a body of work that has forever changed one nation’s way of looking at popular music. His albums “Even Better”, “Dance Revolution”, “GO”, “FUL” and “Overload”, have shocked the Turkish music market, which until now has heavily relied upon raki, sis kebap, belly dance and dumbek for its pop needs. On 2008’s “Dance Revolution”, he first made his mark on their music scene when the track, “Automatik”, remained at #1 for weeks on the radio charts and the video became a staple at MTV Turkey.
With a reputation for exciting and eclectic live shows, (he regularly includes indie rock covers with his own sound and arrangement), Beduk, and his five-piece band, is constantly touring in Turkey and has gained an impressive following. He has played a thousand live shows, from selling out three thousand capacity clubs to headlining a gig to a crowd of 30,000, as well as opening for Faithless, Example, Katy Perry and Jennifer Lopez.

Always innovative and looking for new ways to creatively expand the power of music, Beduk’s humorous, and unique music videos combine wise allusions and metaphorical storytelling. For 2011’s “Ful”, which consisted of remixes of his “GO” album and 3 new songs, he made the first “RealD 3D” 3 dimensional video clip in Turkey for the song “Ful Animasyon”. The album’s promotion was made in collaboration with TTNet and had more than a million and a quarter hits on Facebook.

Beduk once again broke new ground with the video for the second single from “Ful”, “Discobreaker”. With the HTML5 interactive video clip, he carried on his innovative and contemporary vision by creating it in collaboration with Microsoft Turkey, and was only the fourth in the world to use this technology.
