UK singer-songwriter George Ezra to support Sam Smith on 2015 North American tour

Breakout UK-based singer-songwriter and guitarist GEORGE EZRA has confirmed he will support Sam Smith on Smith’s 2015 headline arena tour. Bringing his soulful, wise beyond his years’ tunes stateside, George will have the privilege of supporting Smith in sixteen cities across North America. The North American tour kicks off on January 9th at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA and concludes on February 4th at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Additionally, George Ezra will support US label-mate, Irish recording artist Hozier for select dates on Hozier’s sold-out 2015 North American tour. George will open for Hozier for twelve shows, beginning with Massey Hall on March 2nd in Toronto and ending on March 14th at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. Tickets for the tour went on sale on September 26th; fans can check with local box offices for availability and pricing.

The 21-year-old multi-instrumentalist will tour in early 2015 while continuing preparation for the anticipated US release of his debut album, Wanted On Voyage. The album, available in Europe, debuted at #3 in the UK on July 7th and recently sat at #1 in the UK for two consecutive weeks. Bolstered by continued positive press and critical acclaim, Wanted on Voyage has not only hit #1 on the UK albums iTunes chart but was also the #1 album in the UK for two weeks in a row.

Emerging as a break through artist of note in North America, George Ezra has quickly taken hold of US audiences with his standout single “Budapest” which recently was featured as one of iTunes coveted Single of the Week. Early support for “Budapest” has come from SiriusXM. After “Budapest” premiered on the satellite radio network’s “YouTube 15” show on Hits 1, the song garnered regular airplay on The Spectrum where it clocked in at #1 on their esteemed Spectrum Shortlist, in addition to Alt Nation, Coffee House and Pulse, as well as a featured interview with Out Q‘s venerable host Larry Flick.

Recognized as an artist “On the Verge” by USA Today and declared “exuberant” by InStyle Magazine, George Ezra is currently sitting Top 5 at Triple A radio and is now Top 30 at Alternative.
