Chicago, Illinois’ Valaska is releasing their debut track “Golden Age” exclusively today at Absolutepunk.net
The latest graduate from Copeland’s Aaron Marsh’s Vanguard Room, Valaska is Dave Valdez, a singer/songwriter hailing from the pop punk scene of Chicago. Honing his sound into something much more personal and stripped down, Valaska’s sound reflects truly beautifully crafted poetic lyrics matched with subtle melodies that could accompany any poignant moment happening outside of your headphones.
Producer Aaron Marsh speaks highly of Valaska’s talents, “The crown jewel of this Valaska record is David’s lyrical abilities. He has a truly unique way of telling stories.”
“Golden Age” is the perfect representation of what is to come from Valaska’s upcoming release Natural Habitat coming March 26th. The song stems from a sentiment we can all relate to at one point in our lives or another. Valdez describes the track as “a song about wanting to be somewhere different and in a different time period. I wrote the song after I saw Woody Allen film Midnight in Paris.”
Natural Habitat will be available on iTunes March 26th.
Valaska is available for interviews including a schedule at South by Southwest.
