By on February 1, 2013

Alahoyus & greetz from Athens, GA, Valient Thorr is awake from hibernation and will be spending the next five weeks recording our new album with Kyle Spence (Harvey Milk). This will be Valient Thorr’s 6th album and follow up to 2010’s Stranger and is set for release this summer on Volcom Entertainment.

Valient Thorr will be documenting their time in the studio using Twitter’s recently launched new mobile short video sharing service, Vine, and premiering each video via Metal Sucks @metalsucks Twitter feed.  See the first of many videos to come here.

Stay tooooned and let’s get ready to PARTY!

Praise for Valient Thorr:

“Equal parts Lynyrd boogie, Motorhead mayhem, stoner mash-up, and some spaced-out “other,” you can see why Mastodon took them on tour recently.” – Decibel

“And the guitar solos have a bluesy flavor that’s damn refreshing, respecting history without wearing it like a Halloween custom.  Valient Thorr are the future of pure, American rock ‘n roll.” – Alternative Press

“Allow me to share the recipe. Start with five guys who look like they escaped the Dawn of Man exhibit at your local museum. Pulverize classic guitar rock (Ted Nugent, AC/DC, MC5), push tempos into the red and sprinkle with Anthrax-style choruses. Of course, it’s not Valient Thorr until you add the secret sauce, which is delivering this balls-out gumbo with the recklessness of genuine article punk and enough perspiration to submerge North Americans in an ocean of their malodorous secretions.” – Metal Sucks
