Tracing Back Roots, the third full-length album from Equal Vision Records’ We Came As Romans, has impressively debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart. Additional first week chart placements for the album include No. 1 Hard Rock Album and No. 2 Independent Album.

The band recorded Tracing Back Roots in Los Angeles, where they teamed up with renowned producer John Feldmann [The Used, Black Veil Brides, All Time Low] – a dream come true for members of the Detroit, MI-based band, whose average age is just 23 years old. Despite their young age, the band has has toured all over the world, nearly non-stop, since their inception in 2005 and just recently celebrated their 8-year band anniversary with a massive hometown performance on July 19, at the Vans Warped Tour.

Tracing Back Roots has already received rave reviews from fans and press alike, with Alternative Press stating, “We Came As Romans come out remarkably strong on their third full-length…’Never Let Me Go’ has a surging, anthemic power (and a killer chorus) that makes it a prime candidate for radio airplay-and plenty of tearful sing-alongs at gigs,” Rock Sound declaring, “We Came As Romans have boldly and brilliantly hit their stride, and designed the melodic metalcore blueprint for years to come,” and Kerrang! concluding, “Tracing Back Roots will ensure that We Came As Romans continue to rise to the top. And deservedly so.”

The new album pushes We Came As Romans into new musical territory for the six-piece, by showcasing co-vocalist Dave Stephens in a new light, with the incorporation of his clean singing for the first time ever. In addition to his signature powerful, yet articulate, screams, Stephens now also displays rich melodic tones and gritty textures, that perfectly balances the soaring, smooth croons of co-vocalist Kyle Pavone. Musically the album expands on the band’s signature anthemic sound and inspirational themes, offering sweeping guitars interlaced with delicate synth interludes and explosive percussive elements. The resulting album is their catchiest and most universally relatable music to date.

Tracing Back Roots is available worldwide through Nuclear Blast [Europe, South Africa, Russia], We Are Unified [Australia, New Zealand], Triple Vision Records [Japan] and through Equal Vision Records for North America and all remaining territories.

We Came As Romans is comprised of Dave Stephens [vocals], Kyle Pavone [vocals], Joshua Moore [lyrics/guitar], Eric Choi [drums], Lou Cotton [guitar] and Andrew Glass [bass].

The band is currently on the 2013 Vans Warped Tour, performing on the Kia Soul Main Stage. They will next head overseas for a run of shows in Europe and the Philippines, followed by a full US headliner in October and November, with direct support from Silverstein. Immediately after, the band will return overseas for the UK/Europe Vans Warped Tour and dates with Parkway Drive before wrapping up the year with Vans Warped Tour Australia.
