Conneticut producer FaltyDL has given Woman’s Hour’s latest single “Her Ghost” a breathtaking rework.
The new mix is streaming now with the digital single available to buy now through Secretly Canadian. Stream it here.
Painting an ever-shifting mosaic of twisted electronic sounds around the London four-piece’s foundations, FaltyDL’s reimagining of ‘Her Ghost’ acts as a perfect, primal and thrillingly challenging interpretation of Woman’s Hour’s minimalist pop sensibilities.
Woman’s Hour will be supporting the single’s release with a run of UK headline dates including a special London headline date at The Purcell Room in London, April 3rd. They also be joining Metronomy on their forthcoming UK and European tour, starting Friday 28th March at London’s Brixton Academy.
London-via-Kendal four piece Woman’s Hour have joined the Secretly Canadian family who released their brand new single, “Her Ghost”. “Her Ghost” is available digitally now with the full digital single including b-side.
The band will be supporting the single’s release with a string of UK live dates including a special headline date at London’s Purcell Room. The dates also see Woman’s Hour visit the US for the first time, including performances at this year’s South By South West Festival in Austin, Texas in March as well as The Great Escape Festival in Brighton in May.
“Her Ghost” is Woman’s Hour’s first release with their new label following a year which saw them become the 6th most blogged band of the year (6 Music & Hype Machine), receive praise from the likes of Pitchfork, The Fader and Huw Stephens, and support Volcano Choir at The Barbican in addition to their own nationwide headline shows.
Placing the heart-wrenching vocals of Fiona Burgess against an intricate backdrop of expertly-crafted electronic textures, the new song finds its power through restraint with the band’s attention to the smallest of details reflected in the richness of the end result. At once achingly subtle and breathtakingly powerful in its melodic display, “Her Ghost” is testament to a band fully in command of their unique identity and sound.
Woman’s Hour are Fiona Burgess, William Burgess, Josh Hunnisett and Nicolas Graves.
