You Blew It!, Hostage Calm, Praise and True Love to join Citizen on Fall North America headline tour

By on July 29, 2014

Citizen announced today that You Blew It!, Hostage Calm, Praise and True Love will be joining them on their first North American headlining tour this fall.  Tickets for all of the shows are currently on sale (all tour dates below).

Citizen’s rise through the underground punk scene has been equal parts rapid and stealthy.  Since the release of their debut full-length Youth on Run For Cover Records last June, the Michigan quintet has quietly amassed an enormous following, with their videos for “The Summer” and “How Does It Feel” collectively accumulating over a half-million views, sold-out tours, and socials that top over 100k fans.  It seems as an appropriate time as any for Citizen to embark on their first North American headlining tour.

Youth was recorded by Will Yip (La Dispute, Title Fight, Braid, Pity Sex) at Studio 4 and debuted at #171 on the Billboard Top 200 and #9 on Heatseekers.  Since forming as midwestern high-schoolers in 2009, Citizen has continually demonstrated that they are one of the most promising young bands in the alternative rock underground today.

You Blew It! first caught everyone’s attention earlier this year with the release of their sophomore full-length Keep Doing What You’re Doing via Topshelf Records.  After a series of successful tours across the globe with bands such as The Front Bottoms, Say Anything, and Modern Baseball, the band recently released an EP of Weezer covers, titled You Blue It via Topshelf Records.

Hostage Calm just announced the release of their latest full-length, Die On Stage, out September 16th via Run For Cover Records.  The political pop punk band has made a reputation for their catchy hooks and impassioned personal views.  Their recent video for the new track “Your Head/Your Heart” premiered on the AV Club last week.
